About the College
Hinduhridaysamrat Mananiya Balasaheb Thackeray Arts, Commerce & Science College, Pohegaon, is a co-educational institution located at Pohegaon 423605, Taluka Kopargaon, District Ahmednagar (Maharashtra, India). The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and is committed to providing quality higher education to students from rural and nearby areas.
The college was established in August 2021 on a permanent non-grant basis, with the support of Sahakar Maharshi Late Ganpatrao Rabhaji Autade Patil Social and Educational Trust, Pohegaon, and through the visionary leadership and dedicated efforts of social worker Shri Nitinrao Autade. The institution was founded with a noble objective—to bring students from Pohegaon and surrounding rural regions into the mainstream of higher education, especially those who are deprived of educational opportunities due to financial and social limitations.
Since its establishment, the college has been working to support economically and socially disadvantaged students, including those from rural backgrounds and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, by providing accessible and affordable higher education. The institution offers undergraduate programmes in Arts (B.A.), Commerce and Management (B.Com), and Science and Technology (B.Sc.), designed to develop knowledge, critical thinking, practical skills, and ethical values among students.
Beyond academics, the college encourages co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including sports, cultural programmes, and community service. With a student-focused approach, supportive learning environment, and essential modern facilities, the college aims to develop responsible and confident graduates who contribute positively to society. Hinduhridaysamrat Mananiya Balasaheb Thackeray Arts, Commerce & Science College continues to serve as a centre of learning, opportunity, and empowerment for the leaders of tomorrow.
